Moonstead Seller Policies

Effective Date: January 2025. These guidelines apply to all sellers offering digital metaphysical and creative services on Moonstead.

1. Overview

Moonstead is a curated marketplace for spiritual and metaphysical creators. Sellers may offer intuitive readings, energy sessions, spellwork, and other forms of creative ritual or intention work. All listings must be transparent, ethical, and compliant with payment and legal standards. By listing a service, you agree to these terms.

2. Acceptable Services

  • Spells, rituals, and castings centered around love, luck, clarity, protection, or healing — framed ethically and with transparency.
  • Energy alignments, manifestation sequences, aura cleansing, or intention work.
  • Divination and intuitive readings (tarot, oracle, pendulum, etc.) with honest descriptions.
  • Custom metaphysical guidance, affirmation letters, or spiritual reports delivered as text, audio, or video.

Always explain what the client will receive — duration, format, and delivery timeline. Avoid absolute promises of results.

3. Restricted & Prohibited Offerings

Prohibited

  • Claims of guaranteed outcomes ("this spell will definitely make X happen").
  • Medical, legal, or financial advice presented as professional counsel.
  • Negative energy work intended to harm or manipulate others.
  • Stolen or stock images that misrepresent your work.
  • Any service that violates law or payment-processor policy.

May Require Review

Services in sensitive categories (love or influence-related spells, obsession castings, etc.) may undergo additional review to ensure ethical framing and compliance with Stripe's 2025 restricted-business standards.

4. Transparency & Deliverables

  • List clear outcomes (e.g., "three-night ritual focusing on emotional balance and clarity").
  • Describe your process, tools, and timeframe honestly.
  • Include a note such as: "Results vary. This service is intended for personal reflection and spiritual support."
  • Use your own images or visuals whenever possible.

Order delivery method

Sellers must deliver completed orders — including readings, reports, and any other deliverable a Buyer paid for — through Moonstead’s order completion flow (the “mark order as delivered” / deliverable upload step on the order). This is the only authorized delivery channel.

Delivering reading content or other paid deliverables through the in-app inbox, chat, or any channel outside the order completion flow is a policy violation and is subject to account action — including order reversal, payout holds, loss of badges, suspension, or permanent removal from Moonstead. The inbox is for clarifying questions and coordination only, not for fulfilling the order.

Using the order completion flow protects you: it creates the timestamped delivery record Moonstead relies on to release your payout, defend chargebacks, and resolve disputes in your favor.

5. Payments, Payouts & Compliance

Moonstead partners with licensed payment processors such as Stripe. Certain metaphysical categories — including psychic readings or spellwork — are considered higher-risk and may be subject to reserves, holds, or verification requests. Stripe may review listings to ensure compliance with its Restricted Businesses Policy.

Maintain low dispute rates and communicate clearly with clients to avoid misunderstandings that could flag your account.

6. Keep Payments on Moonstead

Every Moonstead transaction must go through Moonstead checkout. The marketplace fee is what funds buyer protection, dispute resolution, payouts, and your fraud-chargeback coverage. Skipping it leaves both you and the buyer unprotected and is a material violation of our Terms of Service §14 — whether the buyer suggested it or you did, and whether or not a Moonstead order was ever created.

Prohibited payment methods

You may not solicit, accept, or arrange payment for a Moonstead service through any of the following:

  • Venmo, Cash App, PayPal (including PayPal.me), Zelle
  • Apple Pay or Google Pay peer-to-peer transfers
  • Wise, Revolut, or any other money-transfer service
  • GoFundMe, Patreon, Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, OnlyFans tips
  • Gift cards (Amazon, Steam, Visa, etc.) or prepaid cards
  • Wire transfers, ACH, bank deposits, checks, or cash
  • Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, USDT, any wallet address)

Prohibited channels

You may not direct another user to continue the conversation or transaction on WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Discord, Snapchat, Instagram DM, WeChat, KakaoTalk, Line, Kik, Skype, SMS, email, or any other off-platform channel for the purpose of arranging or completing payment. Normal social-media chat unrelated to payment is fine; arranging payment there is not.

If a buyer asks you to pay off-platform

It’s easier than it sounds. Here’s a copy-paste reply that protects you and the buyer:

Hi! I keep all payments inside Moonstead so we’re both covered — refunds, disputes, and delivery confirmation only work if it’s on the platform. You can check out directly from my listing. Looking forward to your reading!

If a buyer keeps pushing, report the conversation through the report option in the thread — we’ll take it from there.

7. Automated Message Scanning

Moonstead automatically scans buyer/seller messages for payment-app names, payment handles, cashtags, crypto wallet patterns, and external-chat invitations paired with payment intent. Flagged messages still send — we don’t want to block legitimate conversation — but the attempt is recorded for our moderation team to review.

The filter runs on both directions, so attempts from buyers and sellers are recorded the same way. Repeated or coordinated off-platform attempts can lead to listing removal, payout holds, suspension, or termination — see §9 Consequences below.

If you ever need to discuss a payment method with a buyer for a legitimate reason (for example, to explain that you don’t accept it), you can still do so — nothing is hidden or rejected. Just keep the actual transaction on Moonstead.

8. Refunds & Disputes

  • Post clear refund and cancellation policies in your listings.
  • Respond to all client messages respectfully and promptly.
  • Moonstead may mediate disputes where necessary to protect buyers and maintain compliance.

9. Consequences of Violations

We try not to lead with the hammer. The usual ladder is:

  1. Warning. First incident, low severity. You’ll be told what triggered it and how to avoid it next time.
  2. Listing removal or reduced visibility.
  3. Loss of Star Seller or featured badges.
  4. Payout holds, delays, or account suspension.
  5. Permanent removal from Moonstead. Pending earnings may be forfeited and marketplace fees that would have been owed on off-platform transactions may be recovered.

Some violations skip steps. Off-platform payment attempts, fraud, and threats can go straight to suspension or termination on the first incident, especially if repeated within the same conversation.

10. Best Practices for Sellers

  • Use authentic imagery and warm, transparent descriptions.
  • Deliver all promised work promptly and completely.
  • Include a short disclaimer for spiritual or metaphysical offerings.
  • Maintain a kind, professional tone in all communications.

11. Policy Updates

These policies may evolve as Stripe or legal standards change. Sellers will be notified of major updates via dashboard or email. Continued use of Moonstead confirms agreement to the latest version.

Summary

Moonstead celebrates authentic creative and spiritual work — from spells and rituals to readings and alignment sessions. These policies protect your artistry, your clients, and the stability of the platform we're all building together.
